Denver Urban Gardens - A leader in sustainable urban agriculture

The Gates Family Foundation continued its support of sustainable urban agriculture efforts and food security by approving funding for a three year leadership and technical training project with Denver Urban Gardens (DUG). DUG plays a vital role in convening key players in urban agriculture and providing leadership and technical assistance to other non-profits and community organizations throughout the region. DUG will continue to develop partnerships with community businesses, work with regional schools to promote school-based farms and gardens, increase access to local and healthy foods for the large number of Coloradans in need, and work with local governments to develop infrastructure to allow urban gardening to flourish state-wide.
