Growing the Pipeline of Highly Qualified Teachers and School Leaders in Colorado

One of the biggest challenges to improving schools is the inadequate supply of highly qualified teachers and school leaders to work in high-poverty schools.  The Foundation’s trustees have approved multiple commitments to expand organizations currently working in Colorado and incentivize nationally recognized organizations to begin working in our state.  In 2013 and 2014, the trustees approved funding for Teach for America, Education Pioneers, Relay Graduate School of Education and The Achievement Network.  These organizations not only bring more people into the education field, but give professional educators the tools to be more successful as classrooms teachers and school administrators and leaders.
