“By 2050 it’s estimated that 70 percent of humanity is going to be living in cities. Disparate growth, transportation problems, gentrification, displacement — these are vital problems to solve.” Jeff Su, who led Mile High Connects as Executive Director from 2017 to early 2019, shares the value of collaborative, cross-sector partnerships in advancing equitable communities.

Gates Family Foundation helped to launch Mile High Connects in 2011, and continues to play an active role in the organization’s efforts to make the metro Denver a more equitable and accessible region through innovative projects that support transit and mobility, housing, and economic opportunity for all.

COLORADO VOICES is a series produced by the Gates Family Foundation, to amplify individuals and ideas that are advancing educational equity, vibrant and sustainable communities, and stewardship of our state’s extraordinary natural resources.
