GFF Makes $500,000 Grant to Support Teach For America - Gates Family Foundation
Here is an important announcement. Click here to learn more.

In 2007, the Gates Family Foundation provided a $75,000 grant to help bring 56 TFA corps members (teachers) to Denver Public Schools. This support helped to establish TFA in Colorado.

With this most recent grant award, the Gates trustees have chosen to make a three-year unrestricted operating grant of $500,000 in support of further establishing and growing TFA’s presence in Colorado. This commitment is an investment in a strategy to recruit and develop high-quality teachers and school leaders, which is a goal of the Foundation’s P-12 Education initiative funding activity. TFA-Colorado is an effective partner for this work. Expanding the leadership pipeline is not an accidental ripple effect of TFA’s work; the organization strategically recruits, trains, and works to build an effective teacher/leader workforce. Within the next few years, it is expected that TFA-Colorado’s alumni will develop into a base of 2,000 educational leaders, working in and outside education to achieve systemic change.
